Our Director
As the founder of Shining Bright Nurturing Space, I was inspired to create a modern holistic space because it has always been my dream to create a nurturing space which nurtures the whole child. I am a homeschooling parent and have loved to watch my son develop over the past 15 years, finding his own unique interests in education and beyond. I have more than 20 years of experience working with young children as well as collegiate childcare credentials.

Philosophy
At Shining Bright Nurturing Space we are inspired to evolve and expand the holistic approach to nurturing children as their purpose and being are honored to develop naturally. Each child is regarded as a unique being, thriving and developing in an environment that instills and fosters values such as helping others, love, peace, gratitude, deeper awareness of how we nurture ourselves internally and externally, discernment, free expression, respect for self, others, and the environment. Our Founder, Milinaire Davis, is a homeschooling mama, businesswoman, deeply attuned and appreciative of the natural world. She has been a holistic enthusiasts for over 20 years. Her vision is to honor children's amazing innate awareness and abilities. As the school director, Milinaire was greatly inspired by her son's former preschool's family-led communal approach founded by Ms. Sudha Seetharaman creator of “Trilok School” in Brooklyn, New York. In her own school's philosophy, Sudha Seetharaman so meaningfully writes: "we believe in practicing the philosophy of respect and devotion to the earth and instilling a commitment to humanity as well as compassion for all living beings are vital to our existence in the world. We encourage the expression of our feelings in constructive ways and resolving differences peacefully, using dialogue and mindful strategies of conflict resolution." This so closely fits in with our own belief system at Shining Bright Nurturing Space.

Location
Nestled in Manhattan, New York, Shining Bright Nurturing Space values the uniqueness of our city’s diversity and embraces various educational traditions tailored to each child's individual needs. Our holistic approach nurtures the whole child through exploratory and creative activities. By engaging in outdoor and community exploration, movement, arts and crafts, and mindfulness, children will develop a love for learning and cultivate a creative mindset.
Our diverse array of experiences stimulates academic development in areas like reading, language, writing, math, science, and social studies. Our approach nurtures intuitive, open-minded learners, encouraging them to explore these subjects through real-world experiences that connect them to the natural world. With mindful practices integrated into daily activities, children also develop humanitarian values like kindness, compassion, and empathy, fostering a deep sense of connectedness to themselves, their community, and their surroundings. Daily outdoor time is essential for nurturing fresh air and reinforcing our bond with the natural world, complemented by our easily accessible wall-enclosed roof deck.
